How to create a custom class, club or group


Tap on the "+ Add Class" button on the left > Create new class



Next Setup your class by giving it a name, and a joining code (one may be randomly set or you can make one), and select your school.

Please keep in mind if your students will be under 13. You can optionally select one of Remind's icons for your class. 

Then tap "Create".


Now let's add students to this class. Once we add students to this class, parent information will downloaded from Synergy and parents will then be added to this class as well. You of course can add parents but students will not be linked to parents if you only add parents. 


1. Tap on Add people

2. Tap on Students > enter first name > enter FULL student email address (not sure user name) > tap on "Add people"

 


3. Please refresh your browser a few times to update your class roster. I noticed it took 2 to 3 refreshes for the student and parents to be seen. (I removed the last names of students and parents). You will notice the student is grayed out because they are under 13 and cannot be communicated with. You will also see the associated parents' info from Synergy. The blue icon next to the parent's initials means that they have set up a Remind account already. 


 

4. You can also edit Parent information by tapping on a parent's name > then 3 dots

(here you can also see the student's name that is associated with this parent)


You can edit name (to preferred name) and edit the preferred language. Remind will then translate your correspondence into the preferred language of the parent.
