TD Snap Quick Guide
What is TD Snap?
TD Snap is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app developed by Tobii Dynavox that helps individuals with communication challenges express themselves through symbols, text, and speech output.
Getting Started

Open the App
Tap the TD Snap icon on your device.
Choose a page set (e.g., Core First, Motor Plan, Text, or PODD) that fits the student’s needs.

Set Up a User Profile
Tap the Settings gear ⚙️ → User → Add New User.
Customize name, voice, and appearance.

Choose a Voice
Go to ⚙️ → Voice Settings → select a preferred voice (male/female, age range, etc.).
Adjust rate and pitch if needed.
Using TD Snap for Communication

Select Words or Symbols
Tap symbols to build a sentence.
Each button speaks aloud when selected.
The message bar shows what the student has built.

Navigate Pages
Use the Home, Back, or Tabs icons to switch between vocabulary pages (e.g., people, actions, places).
Customizing Vocabulary

Edit a Button
Tap and hold a button → Edit.
Change the symbol, label, or recorded voice.
You can also link it to another page (e.g., "Food" → list of foods).

Encouraging Use in the Classroom
Model communication: Use the device yourself while talking (“Let’s go eat!”).
Acknowledge every attempt — even partial messages.
Incorporate into routines: greetings, circle time, lunch, and transitions.
Pair with visuals or gestures for extra reinforcement.
Helpful Features
Search Bar (magnifying glass icon): find any word or phrase quickly.
QuickFires: pre-set quick responses like “Yes,” “No,” or “I need help.”
Snapshots: save pages or settings for backup.
Cloud Sync: connect to myTobiiDynavox.com for sharing and saving vocab sets.
Pro Tips
Keep vocabulary consistent across environments.
Gradually introduce new symbols.
Always allow time for the student to respond.
Regularly update and back up vocabulary pages.
